Little Free Libraries

Books belong everywhere.

Big stories. Little Libraries. Connected Communities.

There’s something special about discovering a Little Library around Mount Vernon or Lisbon—opening the door, finding a book you didn’t expect, and knowing it was left there for someone just like you.

The Little Library Project is bringing our community together around a simple idea: more books, in more places, for more people.

The Mount Vernon Area Arts Council is working to find and map the Little Libraries already tucked throughout our community, help existing library stewards get officially registered, and bring new Little Libraries to neighborhoods that need them most.

And we have a big goal: to make our community a national leader in Little Library access and participation.
